✍️ Submission Guidelines

🔒 Originality and Exclusivity

JHMS-NDA accepts only original and unpublished manuscripts that are not under review by any other journal or publisher. By submitting a manuscript, authors affirm that the work is their own, has not been previously published, and is being submitted exclusively to JHMS-NDA for consideration.

📄 Abstract and Keywords

All submissions must include:

• An abstract not exceeding 250 words
• A maximum of 6 keywords

The abstract should provide a clear summary of the research, including the main argument, methodology, and conclusion.

🧱 Manuscript Structure and Formatting

Manuscripts should not exceed 18 pages (A4), inclusive of references, tables, and appendices.

Formatting requirements:

• Font: Times New Roman, size 12
• Spacing: Double-spaced
• Referencing Style: The Journal accepts MLA and, Turabian but most preferably, the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) citation format where numbers are used correspondingly to disclose the sources of information consulted. Corresponding notes should be placed either at the foot or the last page of the article. The CMS citation format uses either footnotes and bibliography or endnotes and bibliography. Any of the two are accepted but it must be automatically done for editorial purposes

Manuscript sections should follow this structure:

1. Title, abstract, and keywords
2. Main body (with sub-themes or headings)
3. Conclusion and recommendations
4. References
5. Tables (each clearly titled and footnoted)
6. Figures and legends (if applicable)
7. Appendices (where necessary)

🌐 Online Submission

Authors are required to submit their manuscripts through the JHMS-NDA online submission system. Submission deadlines or special calls for papers will be communicated accordingly.

Please click the “Submit” button on the website and follow the prompts to upload your manuscript and provide the required author information.

📘 Author Copies

Where applicable, authors will receive a digital copy of the edition containing their published article.

⚖️ Conflict of Interest Declaration

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest at the point of submission. If there are no conflicts, a “No Conflict of Interest” statement must be included.
The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that all co-authors agree on the final version of the manuscript and the conflict-of-interest declaration.

🌍 Language

Manuscripts must be written in English, using British spelling conventions as outlined in the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Current English.
Authors may optionally provide an abstract in another language in addition to the English version.

📌 Editorial Policy

Only manuscripts that align with the aims and scope of the Journal of History and Military Studies (JHMS-NDA) will be considered for publication. All submissions undergo editorial screening and peer review.

By submitting, authors certify that:

• The manuscript is their original work
• They hold all necessary rights to the content
• The manuscript has not been previously published
• The submission is intended exclusively for first publication in JHMS-NDA
